Midland Small Set Nursery School
A Place To Live, Learn, Play, Develop
And Grow Happy, Capable Children
About Us
Founded in 1981, Small Set Nursery School is a not-for-profit licensed preschool offering half day childcare serving north Simcoe County including Midland, Penetanguishene, Townships of Tiny and Tay, Christian Island and surrounding areas. We encourage parents take an active role in creating a nurturing community optimal for learning. Our program is run by qualified educators and caregivers who engage children in play-based learning with curiosity, empathy and respect. Activities and experiences are developmentally-appropriate and support children’s physical, cognitive, social and emotional learning. We operate out of our bright and spacious classroom in St. Paul’s Church in the heart of downtown Midland.
Our Approach
Small Set is licensed by the Ministry of Education and follows Child Care and Early Years Act guidelines. The preschool program focuses on forming positive relationships and recognizes the importance of play for healthy child development.
A typical day at Small Set starts with free-play time, where children freely choose from a variety of accessible toys, materials, and activities that have been set out by the classroom educators. Activities change daily and are planned according to the children's interests and needs.
